Conventional Treatment for 17-year-old with Ileocolitis CD

Fri, November 06, 2020 11:21 AM

My son was just diagnosed with moderate Ileocolitis Chrohn's. They want to put him on Humira straight away, saying that they would like to treat the disease aggressively. And they are pushing that pretty strongly. However, I am concerned about some of the serious side effects, especially for young men. I'd like to know what seems to be the general treatment for this kind of CD. He has diarrhea and blood in his stool, but no pain, no fever, no weight loss. They found moderate inflammation in his rectum and at the ileum and cecem. TIA!
