Second colonoscopy only 7 months after diagnosis?

Mon, November 30, 2020 2:21 PM

Hey all, I'm newly diagnosed (@24) with Crohn's as of May and I'm struggling with both the financial and medical side of the diagnoses... I was trying to discuss alternative medications to the biologics with my doctor, but he doesn't want to switch medications without seeing if it's actually working or not. I've been on Stelara which is $2k a month. Luckily I'm in the program... Anyways, he wants to do more tests... Namely a second colonoscopy. I cannot physically or mentally tolerate a second colonoscopy in less than a year, but I'm really worried about them stopping my medication if I refuse. I last did a barium x-ray that showed inflammation as well. I don't see why he can't use that as a point of reference .. or some alternative kind of test. Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and maybe has some advice to offer. Thanks
