Going off of Medication?

Thu, October 07, 2021 6:20 PM

I was diagnosed with Crohns mid 2019, they started me on a pill forget name and then Remicade next.  I still had some symptoms with Remicade it seemed until i took out foods from my diet that my gut did not seem to like.  I mentioned to my GI doctor that i was interested in moving off of remicade but she highly advised against it.

Has anyone had success leaving a biomedic medication?

Hi arthurbw, my name is Heather I live in Elkins,WV. I have Crohn's disease
and I agree do not go off of the catagory
of medicine. I used to be on Remicade but
found after  three years it did not work anymore.
We were visiting my mom in Virginia and I
seen a commercial for the iv infusion medicine
Entyvio that is for patients who have either Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. It stops the excess of white blood cells from getting into your GI tract and causing damaging inflammation that can cause a flare up. And I told my gastroenterologist at uva medical center hospital about it and that is what she put me on and it has been working great ever since I get it every 8 weeks at Davis medical center hospital day surgery department as an outpatient. and I am exercising also and that is helping to. Please try the entyvio iv infusion medicine.
sincerely;
Heather

I have had UC for over 15 years and about 2 years ago was placed on Entyvio which is starting to not work.  I never really went into remission.   So, I also want to get off pharmaceutical completely.  I'm seeing a naturalpathic doctor and started to do both and see if my symptoms get better.  The thing about naturalpathic medicine is takes months. So right now I'm doing both.  It's trial and error.  I'm even seeing a acupuncturist.   But again, it takes time.  So far being on both naturalpathic and pharmaceuticals it's been taking time. I document everything- keep a journal- what works and what doesn't.

GI doctors seem to treat the symptoms where naturalpathic doctors treat the cause.

Good luck.
