SNRI side effects & treatment options

Thu, November 03, 2022 5:37 PM

Diagnosed with mild-moderate left-sided ulcerative colitis 2006 ..

Been taking Effexor XR for about a year for depressive mood disorder, SNRI causing constipation, bloating, gas pains, reduced appetite. Done with the side effects and physician approved tapering. Seems it's going to take a few months to get off. GI recommended a tincture called Iberogast. Any experience with that herbal remedy or anything else that has helped y'all?

What I've tried: antispasmodics (Bentyl, Levsin), Prilosec, Colace, warm compress, stretching/low-impact exercise, ginger, peppermint, and licorice teas, unsweetened kefir, small meals, drinking water.
