Hi Everyone.
51yo Male.
I'm wanting your help please to learn what UC treatments have worked best for long term remission for most folks. I was in remission on Remicade for 9y before it failed (spring 2018). I've been in a flare ever since and have contemplated surgery to remove colon. Since Remicade failure, for over 5y, I've unsuccessfully tried Humira, Entyvio, and then Xeljanz.
I'm now on Rinvoq (since end May 2023), but it works about the same as the Xeljanz.
With Rinvoq, I have blood in stool more often, but less side effects overall (occassional acne).
Staving off colon removal surgery with Rinvoq and really miss my years of remission on Remicade!
Any successfull treatment insight you can provide would be a true blessing.
Peace... and thank you kindly.

I understand your struggle with UC and the disappointment of the treatments not delivering as desired. While your experience with Remicade was positive, the recent medications haven't yielded the same results. Despite Rinvoq's limited effectiveness, it's promising that you're experiencing fewer side effects. Exploring new therapies might be beneficial. Additionally, seeking second opinions from specialists could provide valuable insights to delay the need for surgery. For more advice on managing UC and exploring alternative treatments, consulting a gastroenterologist could be beneficial. If you need help with your medical journey or any other issue, please don't hesitate to reach out.
