To work or not

Tue, April 30, 2013 3:48 PM

I have had uc since June 2010 and was diagnosed October 2010. My husband and I are in our late 20's and both work full time. I am always missing so much work and need a solution. I can either work part time or not at all. We are wanting to try to start having kids in a year, with the drs. Approval. For those who work part time or not at all, what types of jobs do you have or what do you do for income?

Is working from home sometimes a possibility? From your standpoint and your employer's?

My doctor took me out of work for a month until I could get my symptoms under control.  It helped me alot.  Not sure what type of job you have (I had a desk job), but that might be an option.  This way you won't lose your job, but give yourself time to heal

I can follow that. Managing your level of stress is a big help.
You need to find a balance somewhere. I can assure you, that you will find it,
sometimes it just takes time.

You just need to manage your level of stress and the colitis may calm down. Try to find a job that has a low level of stress. I've had Uc since I was 17 and I am 32 now. I ve had s lot of flare ups but I ve been in remission over a year now and I think it's because my level of stress has gone down.
