Hello, my name is Joseph Silvio and I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease when I was 18 years old. I am now 27, and in that time I have traveled all through the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa, and backpacked up the biggest volcanoes in Hawaii. Well, in 2011 I through hiked the Appalachian which is a footpath that is 2200 miles long and then the Pacific Crest Trail which is 2700 miles long. I have one more hike through the United States on the Continental Divide Trail which is 3100 miles long and then I will be one of a few hundred people to achieve what the hiking community calls a "Triple Crown," which is hiking the three longest footpaths in the United States. Well, this movie is about adventure and the mountains. I know, people who have Crohns and Colitis feel like their life is out of their hands. That living the life they want to lead is completely impossible. I would like to try to inspire these people that it is not so.

Hello Joseph. I found your post very inspiring. I have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease (at the age of 21) about a month ago. However, my symptoms are very mild and I am currently not on any medication. I was wondering if I would be able to ask you a few questions about your personal experience with Crohn's disease. I am interested in learning more about what it is like to live with this disease. If you are willing to answer a few questions please contact me at: gigue014@d.umn.edu Thanks, Ashley
