I have been in a flare for over six months and it Is taking a toll on my job. I am tired, weak, and constantly losing bowel control. looking for suggestions to help me make it through until flare is finally over.

I feel your pain...work is difficult when flaring...its an invisible disease so people just don't get it...get FMLA to protect your job. Driving hjete I'd difficult as its 45 mins and I don't always make it. Trying to find work closer to.home. Flares are so unpredictable and then the anxiety of it makes it worse. Vicious cycle..

So sorry to hear this. I have been there. I had a flare that lasted 6 mos and it took a huge toll on me, too. At work I would carry spare clothing for those times I would need it.Nutrition is important. I saw a nutritionist, and did SCD diet. SCD diet drained me of my energy, and I only did it 2 weeks, but it seemed to calm my colon. I feel that the emotional toll needs to be addressed too. I really tried to work hard to calm and relax myself (having this condition is so stressful!). I listened to meditation CDs, took short walks regularly, tired to go to bed early, and cut out any stressful activities that were optional while i focused on healing.I found that having a few close friends to talk to was a comfort as well. It gradually got better for me, and I had remission for many years. I don't have any magic answers, only what worked for me. I just started another flare after 7 years remission, so we'll see how it goes. Sending healing wishes to you. Hang in there! I hope you feel better soon.
