My boyfriend/love of my life is in the process of being diagnosed with Crohn's. The problem is, this process has taken 2 and 1/2 years. He tries desperately to deal with it and act like it doesn't bother him, but I know better. He is naturally a closed off person. I am deseperately looking on this site for info so that I can support him as best as possible. But I am so sad. He is so bright and such a wonderful man. We will get married at some point in the future. But it's not fair that we have to deal with this. And it's definitely not fair that the doctors can't seem to diagnose it. For the past two years or so he has been a social hermit. He is never hungry, never wants to be around people, never wants to meet new people, and he alternates between anger, depression, and acceptance. I just feel so lost.

Hi!
I was diagnosed with crohns/ colitis in october of last year and i can understand where your boyfriend is coming from. Having crohns can be very frustrating. Although i got my dx last y ear, right now they dont understand what is wrong with me and i can tell you from experience it really plays with my head,, for example, just fix me already. i want my life back! my best advise to you is, to talk to him about it and let him know that you are there. i am fortunate enough that i have a big family and when i am down they are there to pick me up. I really dont know what i would do if i didnt have a support system.just just let him know that you are there for him. if he wants to tlak or not, it is nice to know that you can go to someone if you need to. You know what i mean? Good luck !
