I am on Imuran this is the 4th medication I have been on since being diagnosed with UC 1 year ago, I have had it much longer then that but Just diagnosed. I was on Asacol, prednisone (didnt even stop my bleeding) canasa, none worked. Now that I have been on imuran for almost a month now, I have dryskin on my entire body, and it iches so bad, and even like these slight open little circles on my legs, they start out white bumps, then peal and are red. I dont really want to stop the Imuran because its semi working, or working better then any of the other meds. Does anybody else have these side effects, I put lotion all over everyday and it doesnt subside

It sounds like the bumps on your legs is erythema nodosum. I've had a few of those too and I did some research on them and found out that erythema nodosum is common in people suffering from and IBD. I thought they were just like bed bug bites or something at first because they would come out of nowhere...never thought that they would be related to my crohn's! I also have psoriasis, which I've had for many years, before I was diagnosed with an IBD, but I'm starting to think it may have some sort of relation. You might want to go to a dermatologist asap! Hopefully you're not developing anything.

Can you take Omega # fish oil capsules? They are a lifesaver for dry skin. They also help in other ways with flexibility, heart health, even digestion. I have struggled with dry cracked skin for years, especially in the winter. So I have a lot experience with products that don't work. I hope it works for you.

I ended up having to go to the ER yesterday because of the itching and they think I am allergic to it so that might be something you want to check into. They told me to use benedryl so you could try that to ease the itching. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

OMG, I have NEVER itched so bad in my life. This is only my second dose and I am ready to claw my skin off so you are not alone. I have naturally dry skin anyway, so I wouldn't be able to help you there. Try to use some baby oil on it or some burts bees milk and shea butter lotion. If you find ANYTHING to help the itching then PLEASE let me know.
