Loose Weithg

Hello, I am having problems trying to loose weight, there is NO way that I can loose pounds, I run 8-10 ks 3 times a week and nothing happens. Can someone suggest me something? I would not like to run across to an overweighted body (Already in 200 pounds, don't like more)

I used to weight 126 pounds then, I got sick with uc and went to the hospital. They put me on prednisone, by the time I got tappered of it, I weighed 119lbs. I can't gain weight for anything on that stuff.

FabianMora, am on the same meds, e.g., prednisone & mesamaline and now up to over 180lbs- never weighed more than 140 until 5yrs ago when started steriods. With painful arthritis and constant flares since last April, have had to increase prednisone from 7-12mg a day to over 60mg for weeks, then back down to now, a minimum, of 14mg a day. Am disgusted by my weight - dont' recognize my own fat moon face in the mirror

Am dieting but realized (1)have to be REALLY patient-takes a very long time to lose a lb and (2) trying to tailor a diet for myself, e.g, low sodium (preds make us retain lots of water), work off or really reduce carbs - they're the biggest cause of weight gain, and (3) find something crunchy to eat...steriods caused extreme 'crunch' hunger so I eat lots of apples & carrots to ease my crunch cravings.

The arthritis and a much needed knee replacement make it's almost impossible to really exercise, especially any cardio. Am trying to find gym w/a pool - its the only possible exercise with this much joint pain.

Am no expert at this but am determined - especially since I bought a size 16!! Hope this helps and also hope someone else contributes to this issue - would like to hear if anyone is able to loose weight on prednisone. Thanks.

No I am not, as I have ulcerative colitis I am taking cortisone along with mesalazine (mesalamine).
