I have been living with colitis since 2007, as you all know it's not fun! Just thought I would share my latest mishap. While running to the bathroom, I hit my foot on my son's pocket door. I knew something broke as I heard it crack. Well, after a week of pain I went to the orthopedic surgeon, and found out I have a bad break at the base of my toe, as well as a torn ligament. So now I am in an aircast for 3 months, I go on Friday to see if surgery is necessary. I should have just crapped my pants!!!! Thanks for letting me vent to those who understand!

Thanks for the support. Most days I can handle the flareups but sometimes it gets to me. I often worry that it will affect my children. My 3yr old has a birthday party at the park at 9am ( mornings are the worst for me ), and I am so stressed because there is no restroom there! Really, what was the city thinking not putting a potty at the park. I am hoping my flareup passes, as the steriods cause havoc to my body ( can't sleep, ect. ), so I avoid taking them. I am going to meet with a nutrionist, I figure it can't hurt ( my gastro firmly believes diet will not make a difference).

OMG, I am so sorry, but when you said, "I should have just crapped my pants", I busted out laughing. Isn't that it? Just when we think we can't get any worse, boom - let's throw something else in. I am in remission from Crohn's and thought to myself, finally a semi-normal life of feeling human. (There's always the hidden fear of when it will strike again lingering)
Keep the chin up, and I hope your foot heals quickly and you can make those runs without incident. Bless you!!!!
