Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a yogurt brand that you have been able to tolerate. Also, I've only been eating bananas for a fruit since I've been diagnosed with crohns and uc. I've read that blueberries are helpful and easy to digest. Is this true? I know everyone is different but can you all share some fruit and yogurt suggestions? Thanks and have a great day!

I hate yogurt. Always have. BUT, I can drink the liquid Activia. I started drinking this when I was diagnosed with Interstital Cystitis (chronic bladder infection) and it worked wonders. Again, I had to get past the tasting like baby puke stage, but once I did, I did one a day and helped tremendously. I'd rather pay $20 for a probotic.

Peeled pears are gentle on the gut. Nothing with seeds or pips, so no strawberries or raspberries etc. I'm ok with organic vanilla yoghurt.

Store bought yogurt can be hit and miss if you can tolerate it. I can't tolerate store bought or homemade. Only you will know if you can tolerate it or not. Sometimes it is safer to use probiotic supplements
As for fruit and big thing is not if you can eat it...it is WHEN you eat it.
Dont eat fruit with meals, eat fruit by itself 30 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal. fruit digests very easy and if you eat it with a full meal it will ferment and create a ton of gas, bloating and other problems.
Bananas are a personal issue. Green bananas are more startchy and take longer to digest 45 mins. brown ones have more sugars.
If your dealing with yeast-fungus issues fruit should be avoided. 50% of UC people has yeast issues and up to 75% of CD does.

You aren't eating raw fruit aside from the bananas, are you?
Applesauce seems to work OK for me, and from what I have heard you are probably best to just stay away form yogurt (I haven't heard anything about Activia though).

Any yogurt works for me....so that is no help to you...sorry. However, I just spent a week at the beach with my daughter, son-in-law and 3 yr old granddaughter...I lived off pineapple, papaya, mango's mixed in with cottage cheese. I also had coffee, and scrambled eggs and cheese. lol. Not balanced but maybe you can try the papaya and mango's. Hope this helps.

I only eat Stoneyfield Farm yogurt. I love the vanilla. It seems to have the least amount of additives in the yogurts on the market (at least in my area). Im trying to modify my diet and add more natural foods, fruits and vegetables. Ive had luck with peaches (without skins, of course) and cherries. Ive read cherries are a natural anti-inflammatory food. Strawberries are iffy, due to the seeds, so I try to stay away from them for the most part. This week Im going to try blueberries. I know everyone is different, so what may work for you may not work for someone else. Bananas were my only fruit for about a year (with canned fruit cocktail), so I really needed to get over my fear and try some new things. The melon family also seems to work okay with my system -- cantaloupe, watermelon, etc. Peeled apples also seem to be okay. Hope that helps.

Hi,
For yogurt I find vanilla Activia works well for me.
I'm the same way with bananas, the only fruit I can eat. Honestly blueberries for me are the worst. It's gross but they come out the same way they went in..no matter how well I think I chew them. I had to give them up cause I was worried they'd cause a blockage. This summer has been the worst not being able to eat fresh berries.
Sorry I don't have more advice!
I have sensura mio deep convex pouch sets that I c....
