I was turned down 2x, both were a joke as far as the Gov looking at my case. (1st they only looked at there 2 Dr, none of mine. The second was a joke review two weeks prior to the reject they still did not even have a worker on my case. It took one of my new Dr a week just to review my rhumitology reports)! Now I am impatiently waiting for a hearing, I hired a Lawyer - almost have to.
Since we suffer with 'invisible diseases' it is harder to prove. Document, document, document! You will need to show severity, and inability to maintain sustainable income. IT IS HARD!
I started by seeking help through our local "aging and disability resource" agency. I am only 36yrs old so I was pretty much an auto-no case, and would need to get a lawyer. Even with my MULTIPE Diseases and issues, going from working FT, laid-off to now barely being able to work PT due to pain and flairs.
So FILE, hang in there - it will take a long time. BUT, if that is how bad it is Do it now!
Good LUCK!
