Does anyone have any suggestions for protein shakes, what brand, where to buy it. Also has anyone used creatine and has UC too. I have put on weight since my last flare up and im wanting to lose it before summer and before i get married end of the year. I had used creatine in the past before i got UC but now im afraid to use it again that it may cause a flare up. Please any and all suggestions thanks.

I use the following protein powders with almond milk:
Nutribiotice rice protein
Jarrows rice protein
Living Fuel Ultimate Superberry
I also put a tablespoon of chocolate rice protein in my morning oatmeal to add additional protein.

I use Gold Standard Whey Protein, doesn't bother my stomach at all. Gained 15 pounds in two months but I was eating 4 or 5 peanut butter sandwiches in between meals as well. I lost about 5 pounds but have kept 10 pounds of muscle on. I tried using a drink with Creatine in it and started having stomach trouble but your stomach may react differently. Hope this helps and good luck!

i used to have a protein shake every morning but i'm trying an experiment without them for now since UC is fairly new for me and dont quite know what foods work and don't work for me. at any rate, i use powdered whey protien (like the kind you can get in a big plastic jug at wal-mart or other grocery store), yogurt, a banana or some other fruit, some ice cubes, about 1/4 cup of dry oat meal (i can't stand cooked oat meal but oats are healthy so i throw 'em in there), and top it off with some juice or milk. fills me up till lunch and tastes pretty good...
