Humus?

Sun, June 06, 2010 10:05 AM

I was just wondering if anyone had any luck with humus.  I'm trying to put some variety into my diet and I thought I'd give humus a try.  I have crohn's and ulcerative colitis.  Thanks!

Humus is made with garlic...both onion & garlic are irritants during a flare...eat with caution.

I have been trying hummus lately and have found that me and hummus are not friends right now. Maybe after my flare up goes away I may be able to tolerate it.

I've had UC for 24 years and have hummus often. I make it from scratch. I've never had any reaction or problem. I eat it with whole wheat pita bread.

When I was first diagnosed I noticed that hummus did npt work well for me.  Now once in remission I tolerate it pretty well plus I notice that when I make it myself it is much better also

Give it a try and see how you feel
