Smoothie Recipes?

Thu, September 02, 2010 1:54 PM

Hi everyone!

Smoothies are great!  I've been drinking them a lot lately, because they seem easier to digest and a great way to get in some nutritious foods.

Does anyone have any wonderful smoothie recipes they'd like to share?

I've been drinking a banana, blueberry/ strawberry smoothie lately.  I've also added in some leafy greens.  Be careful with the greens, though, so you don't get more cramping/ digestive problems.  I have found them ok because they're all blended up.

I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas!   Thanks!

I make this during active Crohn's flare ups. Cant say it makes me better, but it gets me vital nutrients and doesn't exacerbate my symptoms.

2 Bananas (Awesome source of nutrition)
Juice from 1 large orange or some quality orange juice (Adds "Tang" to the smoothie). Some say Tropicana Original is good because it doesn't have added sugars. I usually make my own OJ.
1/2 Pineapple (Contains Bromelain... nature's Awesome anti inflammatory)

Once all blended, add a handful of ice to chill the smoothie.

This will make a giant smoothie and a small one for my kid. You could cut the recipe in half. I love to blitz my system to make sure I get nutrients, so I go for the large serving.

It's good, filling, and nutritious. Enjoy

Hi,

Great recipe! Thanks for sharing!  I don't eat egg, but I like the blueberry, coconut, banana combo.  I have considered trying cod liver oil, too.

Thanks!
