Hi There, I've had Crohn's for 21 years. Filling out this form, I thinkfully didn't have to check any meds. You see, in 2002, I had a totalproctocolectomy (I had all of my colon, rectum, and anus removed). My surgeon said almost all six feet or so, was necroted. I had fistulalizing Crohn's, which enabled me to receive Remicade. For two years, and every two months, I got an infusion. I also have been on steroids, azulfidine, imuran, and lastly, remicade, and all the benenfit I received, was it enabled to get off of prednisone. I take nothing now, and I don't know how a flare-up of the rest of my G.I. wpuld manifest itself. I escpecially get concerned of problems with my small bowel. I pay a high price with the ostomy. I'm on my third ostomy, and still have problems. I do wear a six inch wide stoma-hernia belt. I could stand to lose about 20 pounds, that's the only thing I can do for me, right now.
OK TIPS: I saw someone already mentioned tons of water That is the best thing you can do, to keep things flowing. Smaller plates, will make it look like you're eating alot. Avoid your know triggers. Before I had my colon removed, high fats were the devil
Turkey is really good for you. Pumpkin pie, plain Sweet Potatoes, are all good for you, but say no to whip cream. Avoid dairy. I knew some who could eat salads, and popcorn, and those were a no for me. I haven't had popcorn since 1999. I have to avoid mushrooms and the dressing, which is the best! Moderation is the key, and eat small servings, as I'm sure seconds will be on hand!!! You can always go back for more, but if you over due it, it's too late.
Happy Holidays, be safe, and eat healthy...
