Long Plane Trips with Humira 30+ hours

Sat, September 15, 2012 11:53 PM

I am starting on Humira. In 2 months I will be moving from Alaska to Kazakhstan. I will need to take 6 months supply of Humira with me. I have received the travel instructions from Humira (using a cooler and thermometer, etc.). Can anyone share specific advice for how to handle long trips - what brand of cooler is best, what works best to keep it cold and complies with TSA requirements? How bulky will 6 months supply be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I did travel 2 years back with a months supply(I guess 4 injections) to India for over 26 hours. I used the lunch box cooler and got the cooling ice packs the reusuable ones and it lasted most of my journey, held it with me in cabin. In usa the TSA is pretty good but in UK they wanted to run it trough scanner and all that. alos for safety I carried some ziploc bags where I can get ice from flight crew and use it. you should be ok. Good luck with your trip.
