These are great books! You can find them reasonably priced on Amazon also. I love reading the reviews of these books on the site too--it lets you know a bit more of what to expect from the book.
I also tried the SCD for my son who was diagnosed with Crohn's in Jan. I did the diet too and felt a lot more energetic while eating the healthy diet--but a bit ethically torn because we really upped our meat consumption while on the diet.
I decided to ease off on the diet to see how my son reacted--since he is going off to college next Fall and it would be impossible to fanatically follow the diet with the food at college, even though they do have a wide variety of healthy foods.
He doesn't report any changes--so maybe since he is in remissioin he is ok with regular healthy foods now. I have gone back to eating more grains and sugar and don't feel as healthy!!
It certainly does not hurt to read all about the SCD and to try to incorporate healthy foods and less sugar into one's diet.

The SCD diet definatly helped at first. I was always getting up in the middle of the night and that stopped when I started the diet. However, I never went into remission so I went back to eating "normal". I picked up a lot of good habits from some of the recipes though. I also found some healthier ways of eating (colitis or not)...but it definatly wasn't the cure all for me. i'm still not in remission.
