First flare after 5 years remission.

Hey guys! My name is Jessica, Im 20 years old and have had Crohns since I was 8. Ive had my illium resected, have had an abscess and a major blockage in my past. Ive been fed through a pic line (not sure on spelling) for a month and during that I had a drain that hung out of my stomach for an abscess. Couldnt eat for a month. So after all that, I went on remicade for approximately 2 years then went off of all meds for 5 (glorious) years. So rewind to about 1 month ago I had explatory surgery for horrible periods, they ended up diagnosing me with endo also, but during the surgery they saw active crohns and had to end the surgery right away. I had no symptoms. Now I am having all kinds of pain, had an MRI done and they confirmed I am in a crohns flare, multiple areas are inflamed, I have multiple bowel loops (whatever that means) and I have sludge on my gallbladder (Ive also had horrible pain after I eat). I feel as though Ive just been rediagnoised. I have no clue how to deal with this on mg adult life. I am recently married and my husband is the most amazing man Ive ever met, but this is so much stress on a new marriage. They have started me on a steroid twice daily of 20mg each for a month. Talking about humeria but Im scared. And on top of everything, for my endo they want to put me on Lupron or a full hysterectomy, and before everyone tells me how young I am, Ive been on every birthcontorl I possibly could, and have had reactions and a such. So I just have so much going on. I hope this all makes sense. Im kind of a mess right now.

Hi Jess

Sorry to read about the challenges you are having with your health.   You mentioned a lot in your post.  I just want to share some info on a few of the points.   First, I know you said that you are scared of Humira.   Humira and other biologics are very successful in reducing symptoms and inducing and maintain disease remission.   To reduce your level of fear it can help to learn more about your treatment option.  You can learn more about some of your treatment options.   To learn more view our Understanding IBD Medication brochure at: http://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/assets/pdfs/understanding-ibd-meds-nov.pdf .   If you would like to talk, contact the Help Center at 888-694-8872 or at info@crohnscolitisfoundation.org
