Do my sysmptoms sound familiar

Mon, February 16, 2009 1:00 AM

I have been diligently trying to find out what my health problem is and have found distinct similarities with posts that are on the CCFA website, but I have differences that do not jive with most posts.  Especially the symptom of weight loss which I have not had even though I do not eat as much as I used too due to feeling bloated quicky after eating, even a little bit.

I have seen the doctor numerous times over the last 6 -8 months and he cannot find anything wrong with me.  Approximately 8 months ago I had flu like symptoms but they lasted only one night and I regained most of my strength the next day which I found unusual for the flu.  About a week later I again suffered flu like conditions during a flight and my ears shut down (Doctor called it Eustacian tube dysfunction).  During the subsequent weeks I was experiencing bouts of night sweats and then chills so I was constantly removing and recovering myself with blankets.  About a month and a half later I experienced flu like symptoms again and began feeling weaker and weaker with some joint pain off and on.  I have found that I have had to go to bed earlier and earlier and have found that I am still very weak and tired when arising.  I've been back to the doctor but am not achieving any resolution.  He is having me treated for depression and stress with counseling.  I'm thinking that it is more physical than mental and Chron's has some possibility though that may not be good.

I just want to regain my strength and not be so tired all of the time.

It is not unusual to not be correctly dg for mos, that was my case yrs ago with Crohn's. I don't know if that is what you have...but before my surgery, I had night sweats due to an abscess inside, common with Crohn's, but had debilitating diarrhea, wt loss, weakness...jt pain I did not have early on. I did feel like I was ? not only physically ill, but maybe imagining  things, because the professionals could not tag a cause and tx for me.

Don't give up.

Crohn's disease is hard to diagnose and many doctors can only find it when you are having a flare up. The advice I would give you would be to see the doctor when you are experiencing the flu like symptoms and have him do a CAT scan of your bowels. This will ease your mind and maybe give you answers. Stay on the antidepressants they will relax you as you find out what is going on. I hope this helps.
