Are the drugs fighting the cause or the symptoms??Do the drugs our doctors have us take go after the cause or the symptoms?
Do they cause more harm than good?
Why are the corporate sponsors on the CCFA websites all drug manufactures for bowel diseases?
I pose these questions because I took nearly ever drug out there and was left for dead back in 2003. It wasnt until I took a leap of faith and applied natural and holistic ways of living. It wasnt that my doctors did not care they had no clue there were others ways to help the body heal besides heavy drugs. Doctors treat sickness, you dont go to your doctor because your healthy. I understand a lot of us out there are confused and scared.
Living on steroids for the rest of your life is no way of living either there has to be a better way. Help me understand your biggest fears, doubts, concerns, and worries? Share them with me.
God Bless

There is no cure. Be thankful that the medical community is there and that they have drugs to keep the disease at bay. Be thankful for this forum. Be thankful that researchers are trying to find a cure. I would not be here to write this if it were not for the medical community and all of their efforts. I am very thankful, believe me. I take very good care of myself to no avail. It is a disease.

I agree with you 100 percent. It's all part of the system. One hand feeds another.
The drugs, no, they do not cure us. But they do allow us the time we need to regroup, rethink and hopefully, others out there will see that a more natural way of healing is the only way we will become pain free. I know a woman who has had Crohn's for over 20 years. She treated herself, with what she could eat, etc., etc., and she has not had a flare up since. It is all a matter of what we can put into our bodies to allow the inflammation to heal.
I am not discounting prednisone. It is the only drug that has worked for me. But it has also opened my eyes as to what I now need to do to completely change, again, my diet and research foods that will heal. Time, it all takes time, and I know I will get there.
