I was 18 when I got diagnosed, now 23.  Had to spend 3 months in the hospital withering away (lost 50lbs).  Everyone on here has different stories and has found different ways to deal with their disease.  I personally used to be hopeless and in the "give up" mood.  Thank god I didn't because my life is so much better having gone through what I did.  gasbrassorass@aol.com have him give me a shout, my name is Nic.  The best thing is to talk to someone who is living through the same things as him.  Hope for the best.

I'm not sure how old your son is, but I'm 23, and my name is Jen.  If your son needs someone to talk to, I would be glad to chat with him.  I have UC which is a bit different than Crohns, but ultimately, we're all dealing with similar issues.  I'm also single, and understand the feelings of loneliness and being unable to pursue relationships not just with love interests but even friends.  This disease definitely does not make it easy to keep relationships going.  If he would like to, he can email me at jennifer_borges85@yahoo.com .  Good luck with everything!

My son has Crohn's too.  He was diagnosed about 5 weeks ago.  He is 16 (17 in November).  How old is your son?  Are his treatments not working well?

I am sorry for your pain.  I know how emotionally draining it is.  I want him to be better and live just like he did before but I know he can't.
