As much as I dislike for colitis sometimes I do sit and wonder that I am a better person because of it. Whilst having colitis I have developed a better sense of discipline- whether that be because of controlling my diet or through making sure that I take all my medications etc. I've also got to say that in some sense it has also allowed for me to deal with people better- firstly I've learned how to deal with people when i'm stressed out- in fact nowadays it takes a lot to get me angry or stress me out because im always tired and so I used to get fed up easily and feel on edge- but now I am able to take things that come my way with realative ease; i've managed to learn how to deal with adversity. Don't get me wrong I not like a zen buddhist- i'm just saying that i'm better than I was before. However I've gotta say that the way I was before was because of colitis and it took a lot of pain of struggle to get to where I am now. But in spite of all this I do feel enlightened to some extent as I have come to see life in another way- a better way. And so in some ways I do feel in some sense in a better position than others in terms of my outlook on life. Would you agree?
