Wed, April 21, 2010 11:03 AM

I cant take al lthe crap any more no treatment for the Crohns in pain 24/7 if not the Crohns then from my joints and muscles.I just want to curl up in a dark hole some where and be alone, no one around me truly understands what I am going thru and what I feel daily. I am tired of always having to put on an act and act like everything is ok its all wearing on me I am at the point of complete exhaustion and fel like on the verg of a mental break down but oh no you might lose your job if that happens at this point I do not care at all wish they would just fire me!!!!

Hi, My name is Tina and I have had crohn's for 17 very long years.  I don't know how long you have been dealing with this but I gather enough time to be this fustrated.  I have not had a lot of luck myself with this, it has effected every part of my life.  I do understand where you are coming from, I have lost a good part of my organs including my entire large intestine.  I also have lost my teeth due to a vitamin B-12 def.  I must say it is very easy to give up, it takes more to hang in there and fight the good fight.  Try to at least think of one good thing about your life that you love, music, your favorite movie, something.  Then think of what you would be missing if you were not here anymore, the warm sunshine, a good band, whatever makes you happy.  Keep the faith, I know it's hard some days but, you are more than this disease.  I have done a lot even between hospital stays,  so don't give up!  I hope this helps you and you start to feel better soon.  From one who refuses to give up!

I felt the exact same way about 2 days ago and it is very hard to have to deal with all of this.  Just allow yourself to have bad days here and there but don't let this take control of your life.  Have you looked in to therapy? I ask because I have done it and it does help.

Try to do the things that you enjoy the most and allow yourself to be surrounded by positive people who will be able to help you get through this

I hope this helps and that you feel better

Thanks Breezy I will try the soup I really am thinking I am starting a flare my gut is killing me and more trips than usual to the potty. I really need to get my mind set and do what I need to do as far as diet its all I have left to try. I reall y haven't sat down and said ok I cant eat this or that because it doesnt agree with me I figured if I was going to be in pain and in the bathroom anyway I will eat what I want to.... BAD frame of mind I know. My GI suggested that maybe I try to incorporate some of the SCD into my lifestyle so maybe.... I need to finish the Makers Diet and see what that is about.

Come on down south and we will sit on my porch (at home or at the office) and drink tea. We can go downtown and sit on a blanket beside the prettiest river.  Maybe a band will be playing beach music. We can drink pineapple/coconut juice and dream of the ocean.

I will admit that some times I get tired of people not understanding.  I get tired of one step forward and two back.  People think I am anorexic (even in my family).  I let them.  It is a good excuse to not eat the fried shrimp. Shrimp and I do not get along.  I think Shrimp is jealous of me.  I don't know why.  I haven't done anything to Shrimp.

Okay, here are a few things I have learned.  The SCdiet chicken soup is wonderful.  Pasta kills me.  We are talking fetal position agony if I eat a plate of pasta.  And no, Mama, it is not the sauce. (Sorry on going argument).  Bacon and Sausage is my enemy.  Kiddos, I am from the south.  Everybody has a pig roast in their backyard.  You get up in the mornings and smell Bacon everywhere.  I can eat some pork on special occassions.  Never Bacon or Sausage.  Grilled food at home is okay but in a restaraunt- usually NO.  Now as you read the books, you can smile and think yep Breezy has proven that.  Do not be wary.  It is hard to change your diet.  The thought of giving up Bacon and Bread caused me to have a temper tantrum.  I am so glad I did it.  Not only has the whole food/ low carb thing tamed my gut but it has helped with my skin, my out look, and it is helping me to dance the night away again.  There are alot of us on this board that will help you thru this.

Hope this ramble brought you a smile.  Smiling is important.

Just wanted to say hello and try to send some good thoughts your way. I know exactly how you feel about giving up....these diseases are so frustrating, and the treatment options are not that great (in my opinion). I am currently battling a nasty colitis flare and am having those same issues with no one knowing where you are coming from or how bad you are feeling. I have recently relocated to a new state, and am trying to find a new support group in my area. It really helps on those bad days to have emotional support.

Hang in there

Come sit and have a glass of  tea with me.  The sun is shining, the flowers are starting to bloom, and there are the cutest kittens living under the office.  Spring heralds beginnings.  Please do not give up.  What meds are you taking?  How are your nutritional levels?  Are you dehydrated? All of this impacts you very much.  Do you like chicken soup?  There is the best recipe for chicken soup on the SC diet.  I use it when I need it.  It helps.  What is your favorite juice?  Mine is pineapple/coconut.  It picks me up.  I know you are frustrated with me right now.  I do know what I am talking about.  Sometimes I used to wonder why God let me live in the agony.  I picked myself up (I still get frustrated by people's attitudes), researched, changed my diet, started on supplements, and I am so much better.  There are alot of us on this board that will help you.  Really dig into what causes gastrointestinal diseases.  The more you know, the better you can help yourself.

Hugs!

Breezy
