Hi everyone, my name is Katie and I have had Crohn's for 6 years now. I initially flared up horribly. I was in the hospital for a month and half and battled my last years in high school with a steroid moon face and constant stress and pain.

For peace of mind wear a couple of pads side by side while you are travelling. Just thin ones will do.

Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this helps! I am going to try all of that, definitely having something just in case helps me too.

There are lots of things you can try. You need to try to put your mind at ease. I use a alternative the homeopathic approach often. Try adding a sachet of lavender essence to your car. You would be surprised how much aroma therapy can help w/ various things, not just nerves. Another thing you might try is something to keep your mind occupied when driving.......soothing music, or even a learning cd (foreign language). We play different car games w/license plates, car colors, etc. (but I'm trying to keep my 10 y/o occupied, a bit different). Also, pack a hot cup of tea. Chamomile, ginger, peppermint -- something that may have a soothing affect. Lastly, I have a survival bag packed in our cars. A complete set of clothes, towels, wipes, trash bag, everything that we may need. Just having this on hand puts my mind at ease.
I hope this helps.

Hi Katie,
I have also had Crohn's for 6 years. I had surgery early last year and I have been doing great. However, despite that, I still have the issues of which you speak. I always think I am going to go at any moment. You are not alone. I have started to really pay attention to the way the food I eat affects me. I know that there are some food that give me that feeling more than others, so when I am going out or will be driving around, I stay away from those things. Good luck
