Have you ever felt my pain?
Have you ever felt this hurt?
Have you ever wiped my tears?
Have you ever measured the pains worth?
Have you ever sat in front of your food and prayed for it not to hurt?
Have you looked pass the pupils to the thoughts array?
Have you ever tasted the smell of your favorite foods, for it to be taken away?
Have you ever just wanted the pain to go away?
Have you ever wished you could go back, to when there was no pain?
Have you ever hated the comments some have made?
Have you ever been afraid to eat, and ask yourself why?
Have you ever heard the saying you’ll be just fine?
Have you ever had pain just to sneeze?
Have you ever met anyone with Crohn’s Disease?

Wow that's really good. I love writing, and I don't think I could've expressed my feelings as well as you did. I think I may share that with people, giving you credit of course!

Thanks so much. I have these same exact feelings and it is hard to put into words what we feel or what we are going through daily. I am going to print this and put it on my fridge so that my family can see this and hopefully remind themselves daily what a struggle it is for me. I have been in a flare pretty much since being diagnosed almost 5 years ago and it has gotten worse these last few months and sometimes I know my family and friends think I am just being a baby because it is hard for them to understand that it does hurt when you eat or heck even when you dont eat........so thank you!

Dear Randy thanks for sharing your poem I am a published poetry writer and have many poems that are inspired by my chrons and r.a. I will share some with you in hopes that my poem will help you like yours helped me and others I am 24 and have had chrons since 2005.
Help Me Find The Way.
Dear God, I need your help, I can not do this alone. I feel like I'm drowning, I don't know where to go. I don't know what to do, I'm going in sane. Can you help me God? Can you show me the way? When people ask can you tell me what to say? I want my life back the way it used to be. Please help me God I am on my knees. I know I question why is this happening to me, I cant seem to see why this came to be. give me strength to bare this thing, I cant stand living with the sickness and pain. Show me the way to have better days. Help them find the cure to make the pain and sickness go away. I believe in you God, please show me the way.
A prayer for those like me suffering through chrons disease God bless and be with you through all your bad days.

I've had crohn's since 2000. I'd never met anyone else who has it before joining this forum just a little while ago. I already feel better knowing I'm not crazy or weak. Thank you for your poem. Thanks for letting me "meet" you. I printed your poem.

Randy,
I read your poem & just said "wow". Then my husband & my 9 year old son read it...they said, "Mom did you write that? It sounds like you." I said "No, it was another guy with Crohn's...this is how most of us with Crohns feel everyday." Now it was their turn to say "wow".
Thank you for the poem, it says it all & says it well.
Take care & Good Luck!

As sucky as it is to say; your poem made me feel normal....in the way that I am not alone.
The only thing for me that was left out was a complete nights sleep.
