Hallucinations

Sat, May 31, 2008 2:54 PM

So I've been having very scary hallucinations when I'm tired right before I go to bed, and I'm usually on my phone with my boyfriend when they hit me, so he wants to break up with me because of it. I'm just so scared when they come and I know its just like a dream but it feels real. No one really seems to understand that this is just a symptome of all my meds and stuff, I feel like such a freak sometimes.

I know exactly what you are talking about!  I used to get them when I was  on a large amounts of meds.  I would also get them when I was very tired.  Almost like I was dreaming but still awake at the same time.

Hey Rach, acording to new studys ran by Stanford, most of our serotonine is kept in our intestines. I have OCD, and now I know it is linked to my UC. What I suggest is that you go to a psychiatrist and tell him all about your symptoms, your medications and hopefully he´ll know about your disease. If there is any relation, you can talk to your GI dr as well. If not, you´ll find the right help.

Don´t feel crazy, we all undergo diffrent symptoms. And most of all if your BF is not suportive in little things, maybe he wont take the big things. You need to be with someone who understands what you go through, as difficult as that may be. Maybe, tell him to visit this forum. But remember that IBD gets better when we are emotionally well.

Wow I think you should discuss this with your' dr because even with all the meds I have been on over the years I dont ever remember having hallucinations.  Maybe a change in your' meds would fix this.  I do hope things get better and well your' boyfriend should be more understanding and more willing to help you through all this........Good Luck!
