Bowel Issues

Sat, May 09, 2015 3:50 PM

I had the colon removed, the rectal stub sewn up into a section of my abdomen, I wear an ostomy bag, on 3/17/15. The doctors informed me some anal discharge is normal but I had none. I did have that push down feeling as if I wanted to have a bm, which they also said was normal. But, last night I slept very little because of the having to go feeling. This morning I passed some good sized dark red blood clots two different times. It's been almost 6 weeks since the surgery, is this normal? Has anyone experienced this? Any advice on what I should do?

Yeah I think it is normal.. I had similar issues.. Sometimes just sitting on the toilet for 20 minutes will make the phantom poop feelings go away.. And sometimes you really do have to poop out a little mucas.. Sometimes it's bloody.. But it lessens in time.. You get the feeling less.. Good luck.. Hope I helped..
