Hello all!
my mom had J-pouch surgery for her UC about 1 year ago. Since then she has had major problems. She had constant pouchitis, abdominal pains and extreme fatigue and weakness. She still was having these severe symptoms 9- month a after the surgery, so she decided to get it reversed and just have a colostomy. Now 6 months after the surgery to reverse it, she still has weakness, fatigue, upper leg pain, and is not able to walk more than a few steps before having to sit down (before surgery she could hike trails and could shop all day at the mall). She is miserable and doesn't know what to do. Her CPR and Sed rate are very high and the docs don't know why.
She has been drinking nutritional supplement drinks and trying to increase her exercise, though it is hard because the back of her upper legs start hurting with almost any activity. She is also taking vitamins and eating
Has anyone experienced this after UC surgery? Any suggestions on what she can do?
