Hey y'all, I'm experiencing extreme pain in my lower right side from my small intestine. I was hospitalized for four days back in july with abscess found in small intestine, sent home with pain meds & tons of antibiotics (cipro & flagyl). Returned less than two weeks later for the same debilitating pain and the ER doctor sent me home with pain meds after a CT scan showed no signs of abscess and no explanation of what was the root cause of the pain. I've been dealing with this debilitating pain since and am waiting on a colonoscopy. I emailed my GI dr yesterday and told him yet again how severe my pain is and how debiliting it is and he agreed to give an MRI for a possible stricture or narrowing but I can't keep living like this. I am struggling to walk and do regular functions. Should I go in again to the ER in hopes someone addresses the cause this time? I'm so emotionally drained from feeling disabled at 25.

Hi. I had a two foot stricture in my large bowel, detected by an MRI. I had 6 feet of my colon removed as the stricture caused it to be 2 cm wide. Yes, there is a lot of pain.
Get a MRI. A liquid diet until you get an answer. My surgeon prescribed Tramadol until surgery.
I live a pretty normal life without the colon.
Good luck; I hope you get a answer soon.
