About 2 weeks ago, I got some news from my surgeon that results from a recent procedure that was done to examine my j-pouch were not so good. He said that the hole at the top of my j-pouch (this hole was first discovered back in April by my IBD specialist) has still not healed. I've had an ileostomy bag since then so that the hole, which had been infected, could close up and then I could go back in for the reconnective surgery, once again. My surgeon isn't sure if the hole can be fixed because of the location of it. He's bringing in another surgeon who has more experience w/ j-pouch operations, to help him. Has anyone gone through anything similar and can give me some input?

Thanx sara0226. I really appreciate your comments. It is frustrating but I do believe that things are gonna work out how they are meant to. I've done some research and found out that there is also what is called a Kock-pouch procedure that might be another option for me if my surgeons can't repair the hole in my J-pouch but I still need to ask them about it.

wow. I have no advice to give but I just wanted to say im sorry. I can't imagine how frustrating that would be.
I just had the first part of the surgery done two weeks ago and I already ended up back in for an obstruction complication. I've been so worried about other complications that could occur down the road.
I hope that things go well for you and they figure something out.
