my brothes's second operation

Sat, September 20, 2008 12:00 AM

hello, I am not native english speaking person so please sorry if my english is a little poor. I am the sister of a Chron's patient. My brother was diagnosed with Chron when he was at the University, he was about 25 years old, now he is 37. I am 32. He was operated 10 years ago. In this operation the whole colon was cut. This 10 years have been hard, although he is well mentalised and takes things calmy. During 10 years there has had good and bad periods, but i always remember him going fast to the bathroom and suffer from pain day by day. Milk, vegetables, almost everthing seems to be bad for his digestion. I must say he has never put attention to the diet, he eats also unhealthy food like fast food and less fruit. Last months he has been worst and worst, and finally he is in hospital since 1 week. Doctors say he has a "fistula" (wound) and anothe piece of intestine has to be cut. Doctors say this "fistula" is like a small hole and its conecting the instestine with the vegiga. We , the family, are suffering. He is gonna be implanted a bag, which will help in gaining quality of life, means he wont need to go urgently to the bathroom.

The purpose of this letter is getting advise of informations about the diet, about homeophatic treatment which can help. I also would like to know if his life will be better with this "bag". Will this bag reduce pain? Does anybody know the reasons of this disease.?? I remembeby the time he was diagnose with C, he was passing a period of too much stress due to university exams.

thanks for reading this. We are the "silent" patients, the near ones, who do not feel the phisical pain but an intense interior pain. Thanks again, any advise can help .
