I've taken mesalamine, prednisone, remicade, and the latest medication I've been on was entyvio. All of these medicactions were effective for a short period but I eventually flared up. So now I'm looking at other options; including surgery. My doctors have recommended that I start Imuran along with prednisone (id take the pred for a month or so). Has anyone achieved remission with imuran after taking biologics or should look into surgery more seriously?

The longer you wait - the more damage is caused by medicine that are not working to capacity. I wish I had gotten a temporary Ileostomy way before I did - give your body the time to rest and the medicine a chance to advance. I've been on Immuran and Biologics. I'm successful now with Humira, but I look back at the fistulas I could have avoided by staying away from Immuran/Salofalk etc. The long road to recovery led me to an even longer road with little recovery options left.
Just my opinion and my experience. xo

Im allergic to imuron so can’t address your question directly but I’ve had colitis and it was awful. I couldn’t keep food down, severely anemic, getting blood transfusions on a monthly basis. I would say get the surgery when you can’t stand it anymore. That’s what I did.
