I am little over a year after my total colectomy and iliostomy reversal. This year I have had 2 pouch scope procedures. They keep saying it is pouchitis. I have had pouchitis almost evey month since surgery. My bathroom trips can go to 6 a night and 15 or more during the daytime. I have tried cipro for 2 weeks at a time then 2 more weeks, good a couple days then not so good. cipro for a month, then a small break then another month. stopped cipro went to augmentin, took for 2 weeks stopped for a couple days and back to the bathroom often again. Back on augmentin again for 2 more weeks. was fine until I finished the perscription and 5 days later.......back to the bathroom. This can't be normal, can it? I am so tired of the gurgling of my insides letting me know they are not happy.Does it get better?
