Crohn's surgery finds cancer

Thu, November 20, 2008 11:23 PM

I have successfully LIVED with Crohn's Disease for 45 years until now.  In September, I developed an obstruction which necessitated removal of about 2 feet of my small intestine. The adenocarcinoma, caused by the chronic inflammation of my Crohn's in that area, was found during the surgery.  Cancer cells were also found in 2 out of 22 lymph nodes but not in any organs...stage 3.

Anyone else out there who has gone through this?  I'd love to hear from you.

I just had to say God Bless You.  To have lived without complications for all these years and then to find this. All you can say is that this disease sucks!
