Hi, I have had an ileostomy since 2011, when I was 9 yrs old. I'm now in my last year of university and have to have a full proctocolectomy.
I was wondering if anyone whose had to have one can let me know their expereince with it, the recovery, any complications (especially from females).
As well as any advice, I plan to graduate in the spring so I'm really trying to not let this affect that.

Patients typically stay in the hospital for about 2-5 days post-surgery, depending on their progress https://www.bcm.edu/healthcare/specialties/gastroenterology-and-gi-surgery/colorectal-surgery/proctocolectomy basket random
