Hello all. I tried searching and looking through a couple of posts before i posted this new Topic. I am going into the hospital for reversal of my four month old temporary loop ileostomy in the next couple of days. I wanted to know if there is anybody out there that has gone through the same loop ileostomy reversal and can answer the following questions for me?

Here is some history about me:
I have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease since August 2000. However, I have been having unanswered symptoms that are alike to having Crohn's disease since i was a little boy. I have had a total of 8 different hospital stays from my Crohn's disease, with the shortest being 1 week and the longest being 3.5 weeks. I had my first bowel resection surgery, at 32 years old, in November 2008. The surgery involved removing four fistulas between my ileum and ascending colon and opening up four strictures in my small intestine. The anesthesiologist tried to give me an epidural and on the second "try" they decided to disregard my concern of not having any tiggling or numbness in my legs. It took over 12 hours and numerous different types and amounts of medications in my epidural before opiod medication was given to me. Something that i did not want. Six days later the resection surgery was unsuccessful in that i started leaking at some of the points of resection. Emergecy surgery was done to reopen my abdomen. The feces that leaked into my abdomen was cleaned out, extra sutures were put into the resected intestines, and a temporary loop ileostomy was put in. I was in the ICU for seven days after this second surgery. My healing, post op, took longer than expected because my abdominal incision was opened up twice within a week and an abcess\infection that lingered. It was almost two months post-op until my incision closed up via a wound vac. I also received no support from the ileostomy nurse assigned to me. The ileostomy nurse actually told me to look around on the internet to find a device and supplier that would work for me, letting me leave the hospital using an appliance that leaked at least 10 times a day and made my skin break out with giant boils. I finally found an appliance that worked for me over 1.5 months post install.
