So my 7yr old son finally had his first surgery and after it was done the surgeon said it was a good thing we did it now, he had a foot of his small intestine removed and bout 10in of his colon removed which was a last minute to do because they did not see the colon was so bad off on the test they ran before surgery> so it has been a month and recovery went well he is now back in school after being out for 5 weeks and no more CRAMPS. So I am glad we chioce surgery and pray for many years in remission. Our life seems to be getting back on track and we are planning on many trips this coming summer>

I had surgery at 13. I was in complete remission until I was 21, then I had occasional attacks (1 time every year or 2) until pregnancy. I wish him a long time with no pain like I had. It was worth every staple to have my teen years pain free. Additionally, it will help him in the long run as he matures to not have active CD. I wish y'all the best of luck!!!

What a brave little boy. I just had my first surgery and have been recovering now for the last month. I am 25 and it was scary for me. I can't imagine being seven and having this surgery. I wish your family the very best and many happy trips!!!
