2 post surgery questions- gas pain and epidural question (separate)

Tue, June 16, 2009 12:00 AM

1. Has anyone found a way to get rid of gas bubbles? Mine are in the upperchest front of shoulder area.  It prevents me from taking deep breaths.

2. I had a epidural for pain - make youless loopy than pain pills. But somehow when it was entered, I have a completely numb leg/knee.  they have tried to adjust the epidural but it may have to be removed. Any ideas? thoughts?

You can use GAS Ex...I had severe gas pains twice after I had my colostomy.

I also took a half a dose of pepto, it doesn't constipate me, but it did take the edge off.

Also, drinks lots and lots of water.

Good Luck

I also had the same pain in my chest and shoulders, it hurt so much.  I did find that the more I walked it would help.  I know it is not easy to walk right after surgery, but within 3-5 days the gas pain was totally gone.  Hope your recovery is a quick one.
