Can you guys please tell me what pain meds you take daily and the dosage? I've taken 3 percocet (5/325)/day off and on for flair ups. One Dr thinks this is no big deal, one Dr thinks this is too much.
Also, I just found out that I should not be taking NSAIDS (motrin, aleve). Aleve is the only thing that relieves my cramps (sorry, men, skip this sentence). I'm not sure how I'm going to get through the one week/month that I get severe cramps with only tylenol.
I'd appreciate any feedback here. Thanks so much!

My cramps were unbareble and I ended up in the hospital 5 times on dilauted and vigorous antibiotics.
I take Norco. They work amazingly awesome. You can take alieve and Norco as they do two different things.
But I actually ended up in the hospital in June with emergency surgery to remove a deadly infection I had succomed to. Pertiotintis and Diverticulitis. I basically ended up with a "Temporary Colostomy" they had to remove a foot of my intestines. I actually haven't this goo in 5 years. I feel so healthy no diarreah, no pain nothing. It is amazing. It is a shocker at first but then you begin to understand how many times you were in the bathroom or hospital and then you become thankful
My reversal surgery should be coming up here in a couple weeks.
I just want to give you some advice because things can get really bad.

I think we are in pain more than most people why should we half to suffer when their is something out there that helps. I have other medical problems so my dosage is high but helps when I need it mine is 10mg 3 time per day. This has never made my symptions worse if any thing helps slow down the trips to the bathroom. 18 to 10 can this be a bad thing.

Pain is a hard thing to measure and so treating it is different for everyone. When you're taking narcotics for pain, you just want to make sure you're really taking it for pain and not to relax, sleep, or to emotionally feel better. Those are signs of addiction beginning. However, if you are taking it occasionally for pain, and in reasonable amounts, that is what the purpose of the medication is. If you took 3 a day every day, that's a red flag, but if it is just as needed, I think you're okay. Whoever is doing your prescribing is also responsible for helping you monitor appropriate use, so you're not alone there. If your doctors disagree, then they should talk to each other and come up with a plan/agreement.
The NSAIDS do erode the lining of the gut if taken excessively, and can contribute to a flare. I think you're alright to use them here and there for menstrual pain, because for that, they work great! It's just not something you should routinely reach for. For example, tylenol works great for headaches, so choose that over an NSAID for that symptom. I don't think you have to give up NSAIDS forever.
