Great News Today!

Had hemicolectomy surgery 18 months ago for stricture, fistulas (that drained into my psoas muscle!) Crohn's, multiple perforations.  Today I had my second post surgery colonoscopy and I am still clear of Crohn's disease.  It is still there on a microscopic level, but I dont have to do anything now except live my life, take sulfasalazine and get a colonoscopy in 2 years..  Wow!  That is so great after all the differing opinions and uncertainties, horrible spiking fevers and abdominal pain.  Now I don't feel like I have the flu all the time, boo hooing at doctor's offices or being stoic for fear of breaking down crying.

I attribute my success first and foremost to being lucky, I did not always do what my doctor recommended and sometimes I asked for a test that he did not recommend, but it all added up to us working together and getting it solved, but honestly, in my particular case, surgery took care of all the problems.
