I hope all is going well for you. You will have some ups and downs but in the end you will be so happy. My granddaughter just went thru the 3rd step of the operation, The take down of the bag. She now does normally and is doing wonderful. It feels like she never had anything wrong. What a miracle.

Great news!    Hope you're resting well; hospitals seem like the one of the worst places to go to recuperate.  I hope you're home soon.  Please keep-up the updates.

Prayers & Best Wishes

Surgery went very well.  Still in this Friday, but no major complications.  Thanks for your kind words and prayers.  Should be getting out tomorrow.

I just said a prayer for you, your family, and your surgeons.  Best wishes and Godspeed.

Is this the first stage (e.g. j-pouch creation) or second stage (e.g. the take-down)?  The first can be a bear; especially depending upon how ill your are going in (I was at the toxic mega-colon/near perforation point; recovery took awhile).  The second was much easier (I was up and moving around that evening).  The worst was having to drink that Go-Lyte stuff beforehand.

Hang in there.  From the perspective of someone that had the procedures done 20 yrs ago, life is much more enjoyable without having to deal with a diseased colon all the time.

I look forward to hearing updates, and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

Kind Regards

Thanks.  Hope all goes well for your son.  The Clinic came highly recommended by my wife's co-workers.  She works in surgery at a hospital in central Ohio and we have heard nothing but great things about the CORS group at Cleveland.  I have been very impressed with the physicians and staff as well.  Ready to get this done and start feeling better.

J-Pouch Surgery MondayI work at the Clinic and see many patients on the CORS floor- You are in very good hands. Although I cant comment on the surgery itself I will tell you my son will be getting an ileostomy there on the 26th and I have a lot of faith in the physicians and nurses. Good luck
