I'VE HAD MY COLON REMOVED BACK IN 1988 A VERY LONG TIME AS A YOUNG MAN LIFE WAS GREAT AFTER SURGERY JUST HAPPY THAT THE PAIN WAS OVER. NOW IM IN MY 40'S AND I FIND THAT I GO TO THE BATHROOM MORE OFTEN THEN BEFORE. I GUESS MY BODY IS CHANGING. MY BIGGEST PROBLEM IS AT NIGHT I'M ALWAYS UP AND NEVER GET A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP. I'VE READ OTHERS SAY USE LOPERAMIDE 2X A DAY DOEWS THAT REALLY WORK? IS THERE OTHER MEDS THAT I CAN TAKE THAT WOULD STIFFEN MY STOOL. I'M SO USED TO EATING ANYTHING I WANT AND STILL STAY 170LBS. BUT NOW SLEEP AND LESS FUEQUENT BATHROOM RUN IS NOW A PRIORITY. ANYONE HAVE SOMETHING THAT WORKS?

Years ago someone told me the oddest thing and swore by it. She told me to eat 2 coconut macaroon cookies a day (provided there are no nut allergies). Supposedly there is a type of enzyme that is natural to coconut that helps. Things got bad with my daughter and I thought, what do we have to lose.....went to the grocery store and guess what.......yup, it helps. I also started her on coconut water. I think that is a little better, doesn't seem like she is eating cookies all the time!
Hope this helps.
