Stitches/Scar Tissue

Tue, March 30, 2010 12:00 AM

I constantly have pain at my stoma and incision site.  My incision is at my underwear line at the very end and it has healed like a blister. First I had a boil, then it healed, and now it's purple.  I always have pain at the tightest part of my stoma incision, especially when I push.  Is this regular recovery (it's only been a couple months since connecting the j-pouch) or should I try to make an appointment with my doc, and if so, which one--primary, gastro, or surgeon?

I'm not sure about the J-pouch b/c I've never had that, but I would def. talk to your "surgeon" about it.  A certain amount of pain is normal after surgery but if you are well into healing, around 3-4 wks, the pain should be subsiding... hope all is well.
