two surgeries in five months

I was diagnosed with Crohn's in Nov. 2009, after being rushed to the hospital in agony.  Exploritory surgery found 3 feet of inflammed intestine. Four days in hospital. Lots of steriods, antibiotics and Asacol.  Felt pretty good until end of Dec, started getting severe bladder pain and infections that would not clear up. Finally, sent to uroligist, who used to camera to find out that I had a Fistula that had torn into my bladder.  Went in to surgery next day, doctor removed 14 inches of small bowel, it had attached to bladder and large intestine.  Also removed section of colon that had basically shriveled up!  In the hospital for 7 days, missed easter! Stayed home for one week, now I'm back to work.  I take two Lialda 1.2 daily.  Very scared that this will happen again.

It must be very hard, but try to be optimistic. You're on medication now and the bad part is out. What happens happens. All you can do is be a responsible patient. And live as well as you can when you feel as well as you can.
