getting a port

Sat, September 25, 2010 3:07 AM

I had a recommendation to get a port from multiple nurses because whenever I'm in the ER they can never find a vein, I get labs done often, and I get infusions every 6 weeks. This is gonna sound really vain but um I enjoy scoop shirts and V-necks (I'm 19) and so unless I have to I hesitate. Obviously it would be really handy. There has been points where I need fluids desperately and it takes over an hour to get a vein soo yea idk.

What do ya'll think?
Who has dealt with the decision before? Any advice?
