Hi, had this done wed feb 16, and dr. said appr. 6 weeks until I should lift over 10lbs, and I am worried about returning to work. I am a warehouse floor supervisor for a supplier im Mi, so I dont do much physical work. How long did it take for you to get back to work? My work is paying me full pay for a max of 6 months but I am sure I will be back in 6-8 weeks, hopefully! I would like to hear stories about people returing to work, as I am on the couch for a long time!!!!! Billy

Thats good to hear! I was also wondering if my stomach will return to a normal shape once everything is healed? I am not to concerned being the mis shape is below my bellybutton, but I do take care of myself and am a little worried how my body looks. Anyone have any input on this? Thanks, Billy.

Not sure how comparable your situation is, but my college age daughter had an ileocecal resection in early February. they were able to do it laparascopically albeit she had 4 incisions including one about 4 inches long. She returned to college 2 weeks after surgery. Not as taxing as a full-time job, but still keeps her busy. She feels much better than before surgery as she was pretty sick for a few months from abscesses and inflammation. She too cannot lift more than 10 pounds for 6 weeks, but that is to prevent a hernia. No one wants a hernia operation after just having abdominal surgery.
Best of luck! Hope it goes well.
