I have had Crohn's for 11 years an am having a colonoscopy next week and the colorectal surgeon would like to a sphincterotomy and a fissurectomy. I have been having the same problem with the same fissure for a couple years now with bleeding and being super sore so the surgeon would like to remove my fissure. I have a really small anus and always have tons of trouble with constipation so he would also like to do a spincteromoty as well. My anus is so small and sensitive that the gastro doctor or any other doctor cannot examine me in the office but have to put me under to examine me. I am hesitiant about the spincterotomy and cutting that muscle..I am only 22 years old and I don't know if down the road I will have trouble controlling myself and have to get a colostomy bag because of it..
Has anyone had a sphincterotomy or a fissurectomy?? What the the recovery like? I have to return to work 4 days later and have a very physical job..would there be any problem going back to work and having normal bowl movements?
Any advice or info would be so helpful! Thanks!

Search engines evaluate webpages based on their content. To rank highly in a particular search query, content must be relevant to the search query and targeted towards keywords. The structure of a webpage's HTML code also plays an important role in determining how search engines evaluate it. i have never had a fissurectomy, but i have had dilatations where they do some cutting down there. there is a little bit of pain after the surgery, but they just give you pain meds and then it goes away fast. i am usually up and feeling fine the next day unless i am running a fever. i get fevers afterwards sometimes because of the inflammation, ulcers that surround that area. its just that they are messing with an area that is very sensitive and diseased. i have had many of these surgeries. i have spent lots of time trying to go to the bathroom with little result, it is very frustrating. ive been dealing with this for about three years. spending this long period of time dealing with this issue has been so exhausting for me, my stricture always reforms within about four months. i have thought about ostomy surgery so much, ive been thinking about it for a year and know it is my only option to live a normal life. so with all that i have dealt with i am ready to have the surgery. i have found support from these online support groups on facebook:
full frontal ostomy
uncover ostomy
ucvlog
lets talk ibd
if you havent seen these support groups i highly recommend them
